Chef Lorenzo began his culinary career while majoring in business at Youngstown State University. As an act of desperation to survive college food, he honed his cooking skills learned from his mother and became the first chef for that Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

Never losing his passion or talent for gourmet food and after many years as a successful sales representative, to and graduated from Loretta Pagganini's School of Culinary Arts.

As a personal chef, he has since cooked his way around the country from Salt Lake City to Sanibel Island, Annapolis, and many places in between. He was selected as and served as the personal chef for the Rolls Royce Corporation for the 2002 Winter Olympics

.He created and continues his healthy cooking educational classes for Lakeside's Health & Wellness Conferences each summer.

Some of his personal favorite cuisines are Italian and seafood, but you will find him serving up a variety of ethnic edible delights learned from his internationals travels and studies.


Lorenzo's Culinary School welcomes Jeff Neeley as a chef for the summer season!

Jeff, a native of New Jersey, is a recent graduate of the Johnson and Wales University with a degree in Culinary Arts. He will be completing his internship with Lorenzo's, an acredited co-op training internship site for the prestigious Johnson and Wales University. He is most interested in teaching Culinary Arts and he enjoys cooking French cuisine as one of of his favorites. Jeff will be teaching the Junior Chef program this summer as well as many luncheon, dinner, and single item classes for all ages. Stop in and introduce yourself to Jeff. He can answer many of your cooking questions.

The Culinary School Welcomes Laura Perich!

Laura is a junior at Radford University majoring in food and nutrition.  Laura's passion for food started when she was very young, since she grew up in a family with Italian and Eastern European heritage. Laura is a very active and healthy person, and decided that food and nutrition would be her major.   She wants to expand her knowledge of how food and diet impact the human body.   After Laura graduates, she plans on getting her Registered Dietician's License, and to go to culinary school.

Thomas R. (T. R.) Blagg Joins the Culinary School!

T.R. Blagg, 14, will be a freshman at Dublin Scioto High School in the fall of 2007. T.R. has attended the Culinary School’s Junior Chef Program for the past four years and joins the School this summer as an assistant to the Johnson & Wales intern, Jeffrey Neeley .

T.R., an honor roll student, has played soccer for many years, is active in Boy Scout Troop 185 of Dublin, Ohio, enjoys music and is looking forward to increasing his culinary skills this summer.

Bernard Sokolowski is the owner and Executive Chef for the University Inn in Cleveland. Established in 1923, The University Inn derives its name from its address on University Road in the trendy Tremont district of Cleveland. Run by the third generation of Sokolowski family members, the University Inn is famous for the kind of food that grandma used to make.

Named one of Cleveland's best restaurants by Gourmet magazine, it has been featured on several network food spots.

Jan Sellers Hilty has had a long love affair with herbs and is an accomplished grower of culinary and everlasting herbs. For many years she owned and operated Herbal Lakes, an herbal products business, has lectured, taught classes and written many articles about the uses of herbs. Over the past 15 years she has served the Western Reserve Herb Society in many capacities including Chairman from 1997-1999. In 1994 Jan authored the WRHS little book, 'Tis Tea Time'.

A homeowner at Lakeside, Jan designed, planted and maintains the herbal gardens for Lorenzo's Culinary School and serves as the School's resident herbalist. In addition, Jan conducts herbal cooking classes at the School, and conducts tours of the garden. She is a member of the Western Reserve Herb Society, Herb Society of American and the Cleveland Botanical Garden. Mrs. Hilty has two grown children and lives with her husband in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
